Waste of Water

Drinking water is water that can be consumed by people and animals that do not have toxic substances without risk of acquiring infection by contamination. The fresh water represents less than three percent of Earth's water, usually possesses a much smaller concentration of minerals. Most of the fresh water on the planet, however, is contained in continental glaciers and polar ice caps. This definition clearly shows that the amount of water available for consumption is not so big. I am living in the United States nearly a month and a half and in that period I am living in Corbin Hall, my college housing. I am really surprised by what I am seeing. I often go to the bathroom and see the shower on without anyone being or using and the tap on, it seems that the water does not in danger of ending. In Brazil people have much more aware of the importance of water, sometimes because in some parts of the country there is a lack of water. Some big cities from Brazil like Sao Paulo are suffering with rationing water. It is an nonsense a developed country like the United States take that kind of attitude. I hope that through my example for as long as I live here and with some encouragement from the American government, people are aware that water is a very important asset that needs to be preserved, and preserve not stop using it, is to use only the necessary.

The classic

The best team does not always win, that was the phrase that translated the game today. With the Mineirao stadium in total capacity of people, 10% Atletico fans and 90% Cruzeiro fans, Cruzeiro and Atletico went to the field with different goals in the championship. Atletico, as visitant, needed of the points to get closer to the leaders and Cruzeiro, with a better team, wanted to open more points against the second placed, but classic is classic, there is no favorite. As expected the game started nervously, but Cruzeiro played a better soccer than Atletico, pressing and taking the initiative, however, not scored. The punishment came on 40 minutes, in a failure of Cruzeiro's defense, Carlos did a goal and in the next bid Diego Tardelli increased the lead, was a nightmare for the Cruzeiro fans. For relief of fans, a few minutes after Cruzeiro scored with Ricardo Goulart and ended the first time. In beginning of the second time, Cruzeiro's team returned better and scored again with Alisson, the game was tied. Cruzeiro pressed hard the team of Atletico, sent two balls on the post and lost another opportunities. Missing five minutes to the end of the game, Atletico made the third goal with Carlos and the match ends. Sadness for some and joy for others, this was a good classic, marked by memorable moments. Now Cruzeiro and Atletico think about the next games of the Brazilian Championship. Cruzeiro keeps the first place and Atletico going to sixth place. Remaining 15 rounds left in the championship and everything can change.

My first month

It is been almost one month I arrived in Macomb, I am thinking it all very good, my time in the city has been very useful and enjoyable. The American culture it is more different that I can imagine, in the little things the American people’s is much more careful and this reflect in the biggest things which makes the United States a developed country, I hope that my stay here I learn and take a little bit of this culture to Brazil. The university, Western Illinois University, is incredible, it is awesome. In the university I have everything that I need: meal plan, housing, gym, sports programs, student’s organizations, hospitality of the people, campus facilities and another things, all together working of harmonious manner. Until December of this year I will do the English course called WESL. As was expected, I am having some difficulties with English. I understand when the people and professors speak with me, however I think it is very difficult to speak and write, I have a few reasons for this: first of all I never had the opportunity to study English grammar and as a consequence I can not formulate sentences correctly, which hinders the speaking. Here in the United States is more difficult to practice English than I thought it was, all long of the day I have much contact with Brazilian people’s and the Portuguese language, which makes it very difficult to my learning. I expect that in the next months my English can become better and I can give better news for all.
